The Local wreck (Boonsung wreck) dive site close to Khao Lak is located about half an hour boat ride away from the coast. In 1984 this mining boat sank in a storm. Boat is 20 meters below the surface. It’s 60 meters in length, 12 meters in width and 6 meters in height so there is a lot to see for more than one dive. This wreck, boasting rays and barracudas, broke into 5 pieces in the tsunami, but is still the richest artificial reef of the area.
