PROGRAM:
We start the day with a discovery walk through the history of ancient Phuket, where the prestigious colorful Sino-Portuguese houses are silent witnesses of its glorious past and a hidden treasure of traditions and beliefs is revealed.
Our journey then takes us to the glorious Big Buddha, who watches over the landscape with a height of 45 m. The great Buddha has been proclaimed "Buddhist treasure of Phuket" and its shining white Burmese marble, along with its many shrines and amazing views at the top elevates the spirit of many visitors.
After a refreshing lunch we explore the sacred Temple complex of Wat Chalong. For centuries, this sanctuary has been a place where many pilgrims come to be healed and to turn fate into their lives. According to tradition, a piece of the Buddha's bone is preserved here and the images of 3 highly venerated monks would be associated with healing powers. The importance of this temple for believers is so great that a local saying goes: "You haven't really arrived in Phuket if you haven't set foot in Wat Chalong”.
We end the day with the award-winning handcrafted rum of Chalong Bay while wandering through the world’s richest sugarcane heritage, cultivation dating back to the age of antiquity. Enjoy the flavor of Phuket’s delicious brew under the trees in the Garden bar of the distillery.
