Ayutthaya lies about an hour north of Bangkok by coach and was the proud and powerful ancient capital of Siam until its destruction some 230 years ago. Much of the ornate city was lost, but what remains gives an excellent idea of life during the four centuries that the Kings of Ayutthaya ruled.

After the sightseeing, you travel by coach for about an hour to Wat Chong Lom Pier. Here you join a cruise boat for a leisurely ride of about 2 hours back down the Chao Phraya River to River City Pier, with a buffet lunch on board. On the way, take in the splendid scenery and typical Thai life on the water.
