PROGRAM:

Meet our tour guide at the lobby of Shanghai Mansion hotel. Walk along busy Yaowarat Street, which is the main road of Bangkok’s Chinatown and one of oldest city districts which some buildings date back more than 200 years. Pay a visit to Wat Traimit – the temple of the Golden Buddha, the highlight is a 5,500 kg golden Buddha statue. It is made in the Sukhothai Dynasty style of the 13th – 14th centuries, though it could have been made after that time. Stroll down historical Charoen Krung Road (road of the prosperous city), which is the first road in Thailand to be build using modern construction methods.

Make a stop to visit Wat Mangkorn Kamalawat (Dragon Lotus Temple), which is famous to Chinese and Thais and today it is the largest and most important Chinese Buddhist temple in Bangkok. Explore a part of the old market (Talad Kao), which is spread over many small alleys and streets between Yaowarat Street and the Chao Phraya River. Continue to Sampeng Market, which is Bangkok’s famous wholesale market, where you will find inexpensive cloths, accessories, souvenirs and electronics.

Next, your guide will show you the location of Tha Ratchawonse pier, which is very close to Shanghai Mansion. From here you can take local river boats to explore some of the best attractions of the city. Before returning to the hotel we make a stop to refresh from the bustling street life at an almost 100 years old Chinese coffee ship, called Eiah-Sae, which is famous for the Thai-style coffee. The bread is freshly baked daily according to the founder’s secrets family recipe.
